A few have noted that, while the pie flavors are commendable, portion sizes may not meet all patrons' expectations. Additionally, occasional inconsistency in food preparation has been mentioned, where some meals stand out while others seem to miss the mark.
Lovely small pub nearby the hotel I was staying at. I've been here twice now. The first time I come I had the chicken and hampi of which was delicious with mashed potato and today when I came I had chicken goujons to start and à salt and pepper chicken pizza which was delicious, nicely cooked and the pizza was sliced which is rare, bonus points there. A nice relaxed atmosphere, unfortunately I had big foot arrive and sit next to my table and he just proceeded to burp loudly and not even think he was doing anything wrong, other than that I had a lovely meal and relaxing evening... Bar the one burping clientele.
The food is absolutely fantastic! Definitely the best pub grub in the valley, chef certainly knows his stuff! Staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is perfect, has lots of different beers and it’s always very clean. Can’t fault the place also has a great beer garden
Brilliant pub . Lovely building with convenient parking . I’m coeliac and it’s so hard to find anywhere with a good varied and safe menu . Came upon this place on Facebook by chance and so glad I did , was in touch with them before we came just to check a few things and they couldn’t have been more helpful . Finally got to go today and wow ! So happy with the service and the food . The first proper meal I’ve had out without feeling nervous . I had the burger of the week with onion rings, chips , salad and ordered a side order of a garlic bread , it was all amazing and for dessert I had apple crumble and custard , couldn’t eat it all as there was a big bowlful. Served with care and even offered gluten free vinegar ! Never once have I had that option . Very impressed and we will be back. Even gave me a takeaway pizza box to take my garlic bread home in which I will eat later 😋, main menu great for non coeliac husband who had an all day breakfast and sticky toffee pudding , we’re both so full ☺️
Great pub! The GF menu has nearly all the same options as the normal menu and the price is the same too! They have GF beer available. We ordered for our whole family from the GF menu, it makes cross contamination control so much easier with little toddlers. Us adults had home made steak and ale pie which was delicious! The kids had sausage and chips. The staff were friendly too. Very Coeliac friendly.
A very nice, and friendly enough pub. I had my first ever alcohol free beer on draught here, after not seeing it available in 100+ pubs, and it went down a treat! I was already feeling quite hungry before I visited but the remarkably good service influenced me into eating there, and I wasn’t disappointed! Albeit the pie was smaller than I’m used to in pubs but then I don’t think that that really matters when it tastes good! (Kinda closer to a chippies pie if I’m being honest but it does add to the informal charm of this place) A nice, and relaxing atmosphere to boot. I’m sure that I’ll be back at some point or another
Wow! It's been so long since I've seen a gluten free menu as large as this! The cheese and onion pie was gorgeous, fantastic pastry and the dessert menu was extensive! Worth the journey, I'll definitely be back!!
Travelled to the venue ti meet a friend..lovely service food excellent and met my coeliac needs perfectly. Brand new extensive menu too can't wait to go back
